January 2009
SAN FRANCISCO - January 21, 2009 - Please join Agraria, America's Oldest and Largest Luxury Home Fragrance Company, in applauding the selection of renowned Los Angeles-based designer Michael Smith as the interior decorator for the private rooms in the White House. Agraria has enjoyed their two-year collaboration with Mr. Smith in creating Agraria's Michael S Smith Home Fragrance Collection.
Emphasizing Michael Smith's special ability to render a house into a home, The Chicago Sun-Times (January 13, 2009) reacted to the Presidential Transition Office's high profile announcement that Mr. Smith "has been chosen by Michelle Obama to help make The White House residence their home." They emphasized Mr. Smith's "particular pride in his family-focused clientele and approach."
Mr. Smith's balance of refined sophistication and accessibility was lauded by the Washington Post (January 15, 2009) and echoed by the many media outlets that welcomed his selection and unique ability to realize Mrs. Obama's express desire for a comfortable and happy living environment. In the much quoted words of Mrs. Obama (Fox News, January 16, 2009), Michael Smith "shares my vision for creating a family friendly feel to our new home."
